Oceanteam Cable Solutions owns a large pool of cable handling equipment including various demountable carousels. This 4000mT carousel comprises of two main parts: the carousel basket and the foundation grillage. The foundation is fitted with 24 boogey mounted roller assemblies, for a total of 48 fixed rollers spread over two (2) rings. Through its hydraulic load distribution system, the basket can be levelled to ensure the best load transfer from the basket through to the foundation. The basket is fitted with two (2) rings as well. A Ø6.00m inner core and twenty-four (24) outer wall columns give an overall outside wall diameter of Ø24.00m. The effective basket wall inner diameter is Ø22.95m. Partition rings and inner core diameter changes can be facilitated on a project basis. The carousel is operated through four (4) foundation-mounted hydraulic operated drive motors interfacing through a sprocket/gear rack design. The drive motors and load distribution system are supplied by a single containerized 20ft electric HPU. The system is controlled through a remotecontrolled unit (RCU), which can easily be positioned at convenience.
